Be...Chrissie, sorry my reply is so late in coming. Been a bit of crazy going on for the last month. I will say this, it does taste like whipped cream to me but you have to mix for quite a long time or it tastes like butter and you can feel that film of butter on your tongue. I would imagine you would get the same effect from shortening if you don't mix long enough. I just kept whipping and whipping and whipping until I liked it, if that makes sense. I do love this frosting as it really is very light and fluffy and not terribly sweet.Christinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00321342631902095558noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4154832530787115449.post-4151315775256359852012-07-11T17:07:32.141-07:002012-07-11T17:07:32.141-07:00Did you find this tasted a lot like plain butter? ...Did you find this tasted a lot like plain butter? I made this same recipe also hoping for a fluffier, less sweet icing. Since there's no shortening in it to cut the butter taste, i didn't like it. Both places I've seen this recipe so far, they said it "tastes like whipped cream" but I dont think so at all. It taste liked whipped butter. Ick. I think I'll add half the butter and replace with shortening.Chrissiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13324385491364922018noreply@blogger.com
